Using SCADAPack E Smart RTUs With Dynamic IP Addressing Technical Note

The purpose of this document is to outline a system configuration in which a master station is able to communicate with SCADA Pack E RTUs using DNP3 protocol over TCP/IP in an environment where the remote communication devices receive their IP addresses in a dynamic fashion; i.e. where the remote link does not have a static IP address as seen by the host. This situation commonly occurs when using cellular IP infrastructure such as GPRS as a remote communication network.
