Underground Solutions Purchases Chemical Feed And Liquid Feed Product Lines From Siemens

As part of an ongoing and strategic product portfolio assessment, Siemens Industry Automation Division announced that it has sold the assets, inventory, and associated trademarks for certain globally marketed chemical feed, liquid feed and flow meter product lines to Underground Solutions, Inc. (UGSI). Headquartered in San Diego, Calif., UGSI provides infrastructure technologies for water, sewer and conduit applications. The purchase price was not disclosed.

"The decision to seek new ownership for these particular product lines is reflective of ongoing efforts to align our municipal portfolio with our long-term strategy," says Dr. Lukas Loeffler, CEO Water Technologies, Siemens Industry Automation Division. "We remain committed to the drinking water business and will focus on disinfection technologies and equipment as a means of further refining our position within it – in the marketplace, with our customers and among our competitors."

Effective August 1, UGSI will begin accepting orders for all product lines associated with the assets and inventory included in the sale, which are: PolyBlend polymer feed systems; Encore pumps; Chemtube 200/2000 pumps; VareaMeter flow meters; Wallace & Tiernan lime-slaking equipment; Wallace & Tiernan dry feed systems; and LVN-2000 liquid chemical feed systems.

Siemens Industry Automation Division will continue to market and service the Wallace & Tiernan gas chlorination, analyzers and controllers, Water Champ chemical induction and OSEC on-site electrochlorination product lines.
