The Phoenician Employs Revolutionary Enviropure Food Waste Disposal System

New System Rapidly Breaks Down Organic Waste On-Site with No Odor, No Sludge Build-Up and No Landfill Needs

Scottsdale, AZ (PRWEB) - The Phoenician, Arizona’s premier AAA Five Diamond resort destination, continues to expand its sustainable efforts with the installation of an EnviroPure Food Waste Disposal System. The mechanism features a self-contained, continual-feed design that converts food waste into water on-site. The operation can break down organic waste with no odor, no sludge build-up and no need to send the resort’s waste to a landfill. In addition, the system’s aerobic decomposition process produces no harmful methane gases.

“At The Phoenician, we strive to implement procedures that make our resort more environmentally friendly without compromising luxury,” said Brian Wiley, director of technical services. “The installment of the EnviroPure System exemplifies our commitment to sustainable business practices -- something in which we take great pride.”

EnviroPure’s patented technology maintains an optimal temperature and oxygen level, utilizing a proprietary blend of all-natural organic nutrients to accelerate the inherent aerobic decomposition process. Organic waste is quickly reduced to a harmless liquid that is odor-free and can be safely disposed of through existing municipal wastewater systems. This eliminates the need to haul food waste to landfills, saving transportation fuel and refuse space. The system handles virtually any kind of food waste including vegetables, fruits, meat, fish and poultry, dairy products, bones, shells and pits, with complete decomposition typically occurring within 24 hours.

The Phoenician, in conjunction with its parent company, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., has long been committed to expanding its environmental initiatives, as evidenced by many of the resort’s existing sustainability programs. The addition of the EnviroPure Food Waste Disposal System comes on the heels of The Phoenician’s new solar panel installation, completed earlier this year in partnership with NRG Energy. Featuring approximately 2,000 photovoltaic (PV) panels across three parking structures and a golf starter shack, the installations provide guests with valuable shading while offsetting a portion of the resort’s energy demand. In addition, the property also installed a WeatherTRAK “smart water” management system, a state-of-the-art process from HydroPoint that uses mobile-to-mobile technology to schedule irrigation based on local landscape needs and weather conditions. In addition to generating operational cost savings, the WeatherTRAK program has reduced the amount of water being used at The Phoenician by 50 percent.

Located at the base of Camelback Mountain, the 250-acre Phoenician offers two exquisite experiences – a 583-room AAA Five Diamond luxury resort hotel and a 60-room, Forbes Five Star, AAA Five Diamond hotel, The Canyon Suites -- at one magnificent destination.
