Successful Pilot Study Confirms Kruger's ANITA™ Mox Process As A Viable Sidestream Treatment Option
Kruger, a Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies company, successfully completed an ANITA™ Mox pilot study in the state of Colorado. The ANITA Mox process combines aerobic nitritation and anammox reactions simultaneously in different layers of a biofilm, which resides on MBBR carriers. The MBBR platform provides a robust, stable process with simple flow-through operation with no need for solids management. Kruger conducted the study over a six-month period, consistently demonstrating ammonia removals of 80 to 85% and total inorganic nitrogen removals of 75 to 80% without external carbon addition. These specific benefits translate into a smaller footprint, lower operating costs, and an overall more efficient plant.
