Sonitec-Vortisand Inc. Ships First Of Many Vortisand Microfiltration Systems To Sadara Petrochemical Complex In Saudi Arabia

The Quebec based designer & manufacturer of the Vortisand microfiltration system is proud to be part of a select group of international equipment manufacturers chosen to be incorporated in the world’s largest integrated chemical facility ever build in a single phase.

The Sadara complex is a joint venture between two world giants: Dow Chemical and Aramco. Currently under construction in Jubail Industrial City, KSA, it will produce more than three million metric tons of added value chemicals and plastics.

With more than 2,500 filters sold world-wide, the Vortisand microfiltration system enjoys an enviable reputation and its integration in the Sadara complex speaks eloquently of its superior filtration technology - down to 0.45µ - developed by Sonitec-Vortisand inc. over the last 25 years.

"We are proud of the recognition given to us by major international giants Aramco & Dow Chemical where the Vortisand filters are already in operation, and we are very pleased to have been selected to contribute to this unique petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia", said Marco Bosisio, Sonitec-Vortisand inc.’s General Manager.

Sonitec-Vortisand inc. designs & manufactures a unique microfiltration system for industrial water polishing. The Vortisand filter system is an automatic backwashable centrifugal sand filter, which combines centrifugal separation and micro-sand filtration. Vortisand achieves very fine filtration (0.45 micrometer) at a high rate while using 80% to 90% less water for backwash compared to traditional sand filters. The Vortisand is widely used for cooling towers, district cooling chilled water, pre RO/DI, water reuse and other specialized polishing water applications.

Sonitec-Vortisand inc. is one of the few Canadian industrial equipment designers & manufacturers to achieve international success with more than 85% of its products sold outside of Canada.
