Company wins 2008 family-owned business of the year from SBA's Pittsburgh District

Pittsburgh - Sauereisen, a third-generation manufacturer of corrosion-resistant materials, recently won the family-owned business of the year award from the U.S. Small Business Administration's Pittsburgh district.

"We're honored to be recognized for this award," said Sauereisen president, Eric Sauereisen. "As a family-owned business, we have a rich history of hard work, dedication and pride in our company, and this award marks the culmination of our many achievements over the 100-plus years we've been in business."

Sauereisen and nine other winners from Western Pennsylvania were presented the awards during a luncheon in Pittsburgh on Friday, May 23. The event, sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Small Business Network, was the 32nd annual recognition ceremony helping to promote the SBA's mission of recognizing the vital role small businesses play in driving our economy.

This award follows other exciting recent achievements for Sauereisen including being a finalist for the 2007 Pittsburgh Business Times Manufacturer of the Year Award in the small business category in December.

Established in 1899, Sauereisen is a third-generation manufacturer that provides worldwide product distribution of corrosion-resistant materials. The company is dedicated to establishing expertise in the prevention of corrosion and the restoration of structures affected by it. Sauereisen coatings and linings are commonly specified within the aggressive environments of the wastewater, power, food processing and chemical industries.
