Reliable Production Of High Quality Permeate For Irrigation
Source: Desalitech
Following one of the driest periods on record in California, farmers in the San Joaquin Valley faced restricted water allocations. Although there is a dormant brackish water aquifer in close proximity, it cannot be utilized for high value crops because of the high concentration of salts. The costs of using conventional reverse osmosis (RO) processes for removing the salts are unmanageable for most inland applications because of the high cost of disposing residuals from the process and the cost of energy it consumes.
