Register For The 30th Annual WateReuse Symposium

Scheduled for Sept. 13-16 in Seattle, the symposium will feature a special keynote from Brian Arbogast with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

The Water Environment Federation (WEF) and the American Water Works Association (AWWA) have partnered with the WateReuse Association for the 30th annual WateReuse Symposium. Scheduled for Sept. 13-16, 2015 at the Sheraton Seattle in Seattle, Wash., the symposium will feature the latest innovations in water reuse, networking opportunities, and solutions to critical water supply issues.

The four-day symposium will kick-off with a special keynote presentation from Brian Arbogast, Director of Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Team in the Global Development Program for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Brian leads the foundation's efforts to bring groundbreaking innovations in sanitation technology and improved delivery mechanisms for related products and services to the developing world. He will discuss the foundation's support of a new low-cost treatment plant that uses a blend of steam power and water filtration to convert up to 14 tons of sewage into potable water and electricity each day.

The extensive technical program includes workshops, technical sessions, facility tours, poster presentations, awards recognition, an exhibition, and a special Water Reuse Bootcamp. Key topics include: advanced treatment options; onsite reuse; industrial reuse including gas & oil and food & beverage; policy issues; water supply resiliency; desalination; groundwater augmentation; and more.

The program will close with an interactive and inspirational plenary session featuring WEF President-Elect Paul Bowen, Mayor Jim Hemberry (City of Quincy, Wash.), and Melissa Marshall (Marshall Consulting LLC), who is known for her Ted Talk on how to present complex scientific ideas to a general audience.
