Will receive the 2015 Innovative Technology Award from the Water Environment Federation (WEF) Booth #255 – Innovation Row

OneWater Inc., pioneer of the Algaewheel wastewater treatment process, is pleased to announce that it will exhibit at WEFTEC 2015, the world’s largest annual water quality conference and exhibition. WEFTEC will be held in Chicago at McCormick Place, from September 28 - 30, 2015. On Tuesday, September 29, Christopher Limcaco, the inventor of the Algaewheel and OneWater’s Chief Technology Officer, will also receive the prestigious 2015 Innovative Technology Award for the Algaewheel technology from WEF; the worldwide industry association for water and wastewater professionals. Attendees are encouraged to learn more about Algaewheel by visiting OneWater’s booth #255 alongside the Innovation Pavilion.

Algaewheel is a proprietary technology developed by OneWater Inc. that brings small-scale wastewater treatment and water reuse into the 21st century. The cornerstone of OneWater’s innovative Algaewheel design is an environmentally friendly and visually attractive modular system that can be installed quickly and mimics nature’s biological process to deliver high performance. It is a low energy, self-sustaining ecosystem which uses daylight, algae and bacteria to autonomously deliver treatment without the need for dedicated skilled staff and complex process control. Algaewheel solves the problems of current small-scale treatment thus enabling communities and businesses to move away from centralized, big-pipe infrastructure to decentralized independent treatment and reuse. Algaewheel is also the smart solution for the replacement of aging or failing biological systems, as it can be quickly installed as a retrofit without treatment disruption.

“We are very excited to exhibit at WEFTEC and receive the 2015 Innovative Technology Award from WEF. This award validates our belief that Algaewheel will change how people think about wastewater treatment in the community,” said Simon Zuanic, CEO of OneWater Group. “Algaewheel has none of the undesirable aspects of traditional wastewater treatment, most notably unattractive facilities that need to be hidden, ambient noise, odors that permeate the air, and unpredictable future user fees. Algaewheel is truly sustainable, an economic and environmental solution that cannot be achieved with current technology; benefiting communities and businesses for years to come.”

The Algaewheel Treatment Plant (ATP) has a unique ecostructure that is visually appealing and complements surrounding landscapes. ATPs are odor free, require less energy, manpower and maintenance to operate. The modular system is quick and easy to install, and can be expanded to grow with demand. Algaewheel installations can be completed in a fraction of the usual time required for conventional technologies. Algaewheel plants in operation include some of the most environmentally sensitive locations in Ohio and Indiana.
