Source: Calgon Carbon Corporation

Ten million dollars in R&D and more than 50 full-scale plant trials have resulted in the technical insights and proven products needed for superior mercury capture performance.

  • With numerous unique and proprietary activated carbon technology products, our Fluepac line has been specifically designed to treat a variety of flue gas compositions. This gives us the ability to work with you to create a plant-specific, lowest-cost solution based on such factors as coal type, injection location, flow distribution system used, contact time, injection temperature, SO3 levels, and abatement train technologies.
  • Right now, Calgon Carbon is supplying activated carbon to more than 45 units in coal-fired power plants. These units are in plants that range in size from 200 to 800 MW, burning lignite, subbituminous and bituminous coal blends, all of which are in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • An industry leader, Calgon Carbon is committed to continuing its R&D initiatives to further drive down the cost of mercury capture for power generation, cement manufacture, waste combustors and incinerators, and industrial boiler applications.
