Measuring Lead Reduction Claims

NSF International tests and certifies water systems, including treatment chemicals and large municipal water treatment products. Since the 1990s, NSF has been testing faucets and other plumbing products to ensure that they’re not contributing excessive levels of lead or any other contaminant to drinking water.

In this Water Online Radio interview, David Purkiss, General Manager Plumbing Division with NSF International, explains how the company certifies products for lead-reduction claims and some of the standards NSF has developed to protect public health.
