Low voltage motor control centers (MCC) are the backbone of most water and wastewater facilities. Motor control centers supply power to the raw water pumps, coagulation/flocculation drives, backwash and discharge pumps and many other motor loads in a water facility. The MCC is also prevalent in wastewater facilities for loads such as aerators, mixers and blowers, as well as return and activated sludge, influent, transfer and discharge pumps. Motor control centers normally contain conventional and solid state motor starters, AC drives, panelboards and transformers, power monitoring and control, PLCs, I/O and human machine interfaces (HMI). For remote areas these motor control centers may be the power distribution and control stations.

Model 6 MCC
The Model 6 motor control centers enclosure is built to be this backbone with industrial grade features specially engineered to deliver rugged, dependable service for years to come.

  • Standard section dimensions of 20" W x 90" H x 15" or 20" D
  • 12-gauge steel frame and welded corner channels for exceptional structural rigidity
  • Structure braced for 42K AIC as standard and built to meet or exceed UL, NEMA and EEMAC standards
  • Full-depth vertical wire way to provide maximum wire pulling area
  • Horizontal bus located at the top of the structure for easy installation, inspection and maintenance without having to remove units
  • Captive horizontal splice bars to prevent bar loss and make connecting sections for reliable, long-termperformance
  • Tin-plated copper bussing supplies an excellent electrical connection
  • Vertical ground bus in each section which mates with ground stabs on the rear of each plug-in unit creates a positive ground connection
  • Rugged, quarter turn fasteners on unit and wireway doors reduce installation and maintenance time

Packaging everything into a motor control center is common in water and wastewater facilities. This reduces installation costs and centralizes equipment for access and maintenance by facility personnel.

  • FVNR, FVR, 2–speed starters, reduced voltage, wye-delta starters

  • Branch feeders with circuit breakers or fusible switches

  • TVSS – UL listed units with surge protection for 120kA to 320kA surge capacities
  • Solid state overloads
  • Solid state reduced voltage starters
  • Powerlogic® monitoring systems
  • Distribution transformers and panelboards

The Altivar 71 drive offers remarkable performance, with an easy to use common interface across a wider horsepower range than our competitors' products. It also has an integrated Modbus/CANopen port. The ATV71 can be expanded with additional I/O and other communication options while offering multiple levels of protection for the drive, motor and machinery.
