Lloyd Martin has been appointed as Chief Executive of British Water. Mr Martin had been serving in the role on an interim basis since March 2016.

Chairman of British Water, Tony Williams, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Lloyd Martin has been appointed to the role of Chief Executive. Lloyd’s experience in the UK and internationally has already proven to be an enormous asset to the association and to our members.”

“There are substantial challenges ahead for the water industry supply chain including the opening up of the UK non-domestic retail market and the uncertainties brought about by Brexit. The Board of British Water is committed to working closely with Lloyd and his executive team to make sure our association continues to strengthen and grow.”

Lloyd Martin brings 25 years’ water industry experience working both in the UK and in international markets, including roles as regional director for Severn Trent Services International and business development manager at Anglian Water International. He has also undertaken a three-year assignment as the UK water industry’s international trade advisor to the UK Government.

Mr Martin said: “I am very pleased to continue serving as Chief Executive of British Water. The association is a nexus for water industry expertise and we are actively building stronger relationships throughout the water industry and with governmental and global organisations.

“By representing the views of our members at the highest levels, our association plays an important part in shaping the future direction of water and environmental policy and creating opportunities for businesses to grow.”
