Application: Cooling Water for Food Canning Production
A leading producer of canned vegetables in the United States was facing a serious challenge controlling microbiological growth in their canning plant cooling water. After hearing of the revolutionary disinfection efficacy of Mixed Oxidant Solution (MOS) chemistry, they reached out to MIOX for a solution.
A MIOX system was installed and an immediate drop in micro counts was observed. The canning cooling water remained clean with the MOS treatment and corrosion was not negatively affected.
This case study highlights a comparison between bromine and MOS for cooling water treatment. It proves the efficacy of MOS on microbiological counts in addition to effects on corrosion.
