Kruger Phased Isolation Ditch Reaches Milestone
Kruger Inc., a Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies company, proudly acknowledges the longevity of more than twenty (20) of our oxidation ditch systems that will exceed 15 years of successful operation in 2013. Included in these facilities, is the Tar River WWTF in Louisburg, NC, which will reach 20 years of successful operation in 2013. Louisburg operates a 1.5 MGD BIO-DENIPHO system, one configuration of Kruger’s signature Phased Isolation Ditch (PID) technology, to provide Biological Nitrogen and Phosphorus removal.
Kruger’s PID operating strategy offers many advantages relative to conventional activated sludge and alternate oxidation ditch configurations. This includes a proven ability to meet the most stringent Total Nitrogen limits without the need for any internal MLSS recycle pumping. The system providesgreat flexibility for operators to manage varying flows and loads, while maintaining a very simple and reliable approach to the mechanical equipment. These features have helped make Kruger’s PID system a leading technology in efficiently meeting stringent Nitrogen and Phosphorus limits for more than 20 years.
