Krausz USA HYMAX GRIP Demonstration At WEFTEC 2014

What
Krausz USA president Tom Gwynn will demonstrate the new HYMAX GRIP and the robotic HYMAX Deflector Machine at WEFTEC booth #8634.

Krausz’s new HYMAX GRIP pipe coupling restraint and flange adaptor use a patented radial closing system and unique universal teeth to restrain all types of connecting plastic and metal pipes, keeping a steady and constant distance between the connecting pipes. As axial pressure is applied to the connecting pipes, the HYMAX GRIP actually increases its hold on the pipe, preventing pipe pullout.

The robotic HYMAX Deflector Machine will demonstrate the HYMAX GRIP’s deflection capabilities.  As water is pumped inside, the pipes are robotically shifted up and down four degrees to mimic how the HYMAX GRIP can absorb ground movements due to heavy traffic or when the ground freezes in the winter and then thaws in the spring.

The HYMAX GRIP is the latest member of the HYMAX family of products.  The original HYMAX coupling has a proven track record with more than one million installations in North America.

Why
One trillion dollars is the estimated cost to replace all of the damaged pipes leading to approximately 240,000 water main breaks in the U.S. per year, according to the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The problem is many municipalities face big deficits, making large expenditures on infrastructure impossible – even when 100 year-old water pipes need replacing.  Repairing breaks has become standard practice for municipalities since they are much more affordable than pipe replacement.

The HYMAX GRIP is a new durable and reliable solution for municipalities to economically manage water pipe repairs.
