It acknowledges individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and development of the Association.

Herschell is a respected consultant in the water treatment and engineered systems industries. During her 29 year career, she has held executive positions in water treatment companies and served in important leadership capacities in various professional associations. In addition, she has been a presenter and seminar instructor at many national and regional professional conferences and has author numerous articles under the banner of “The Treatment Room” for American Water Intelligence, part of Global Water Intelligence. She has also reported on the water industry for various industry publications.

Herschell noted, “It was an honor to serve as chair and to be recognized by AMTA with the Presidential Award. The Program Committee, in concert with both professional organizations, organized an exceptional conference, bringing excellent value to the attendees.”

The AWWA/AMTA Membrane Technology Conference and Exposition is the premier event for membrane technology and its applications in North America. Since 2012, it has been hosted jointly by the AWWA and AMTA. This year’s event took place in Las Vegas on March 10-13, and under Herschell’s oversight, was the most successful to date.

Attended by more than 1,100 delegates, the conference featured 115 technical papers and 58 poster presentations, three pre-conference workshops, two facility tours and a full exhibit hall featuring innovative membrane products and services, as well as exhibit hall networking sessions. The technical sessions provided attendees information on the latest membrane developments and research.
