Innovyze Debuts InfoWorks ICM Executive Suite Edition, Most Comprehensive Watershed Management Technology Release Ever

Robust Suite Provides Fully Customizable Integrated Catchment Modeling Solution for Power Decision Making Through Entire Project Lifecycle

Planning, designing, operating, optimizing and sustaining safe and reliable drainage systems just got faster, easier and more accurate, thanks to the expanded array of features and advanced functionality of industry-leading InfoWorks ICM. The new InfoWorks ICM Executive Suite for comprehensive integrated catchment management is now available via five targeted products: InfoWorks ICM,InfoWorks ICM TSDB, InfoWorks ICM RiskMaster, PDM and ICMExchange.

The release propels InfoWorks ICM applications into the next generation. The comprehensive new Executive Suite bundle supports the increasingly widespread adoption by the global wastewater industry of integrated catchment modeling, risk-based flood management policies, real-time field and radar data-driven simulations, advanced analytics, and predictive forecasting technology. It also furthers Innovyze’s time-honored practice of continually adding value to its software while bringing unmatched smart network modeling capabilities, backed by unsurpassed technical support, into the mainstream.

“InfoWorks ICM Executive Suite gives our valued users something no other company can provide,” said Andrew Walker, Client Service Manager and Wastewater Sector Leader for Innovyze. ”This is absolutely the ultimate decision support tool for drainage systems. By accelerating all phases of the modeling workflow process — from basic planning and design studies to sophisticated real-time operational control — it has unprecedented power to maximize productivity and ensure quality at maximum cost savings, all while making work simpler, easier and more enjoyable. These are among the key reasons it has been so successful among planners, designers and engineers worldwide.”

The new InfoWorks ICM Executive Suite delivers a complete integrated catchment management and flood and pollution control solution in a single user interface, powered by its advanced 1D/2D hydrodynamic flow equations solver engine coupled with time-series database and risk-based analysis. A full-featured programmer’s toolkit addresses application-specific needs. InfoWorks ICM simultaneously considers both belowground and aboveground elements of catchments to accurately represent all flow paths, enabling true integrated dynamic modeling of river, sewer and overland flows. It also takes interactions of natural and man-made environments into account, and effectively simulates the impact of polluting runoff and effluent from urban areas on water quality.

InfoWorks ICM RiskMaster accurately computes both the damage caused by specific flood events and expected annual flood damage. Different flood risk management alternatives and their potential impacts can be readily assessed and compared, and the best plan identified. Calculations are based on the hydraulic, hydrologic and economic data for any number of simulated damage receptors including residential, commercial and industrial properties. InfoWorks ICM TSDB lets users archive, analyze and aggregate real-time and historical data, including radar images and meteorological forecasts, into user-defined, actionable information. They can then use this data to not only drive simulations of past and future events, but quickly and reliably assess network performance in real time and respond to potential overflows, flooding and other non-routine events.

InfoWorks PDM is a rainfall-runoff model based on probability-distributed moisture stores and translation of runoff and drainage via routing stores. PDM was designed to provide a toolkit of model algorithms (standard, splitting and demand-based) which can be configured and calibrated to suit a wide variety of catchment response forms. It also provides real-time forecasting of flows for any complex river catchments. Model inputs are rainfall and evaporation over the catchment. Output is river flow (or level) at the catchment outlet along with other important parameters including soil moisture deficit and the various flow components (e.g., infiltration excess runoff, inflow to groundwater store, baseflow, fast response surface flow).

ICMExchange provides scripting language access to the features of the modeling software, enabling users to build, access, and modify model databases and seamlessly interface with other software to suit application-specific needs. Having access to this tailored functionality right out of the box streamlines the creation of independent applications and custom interfaces that enable users to view or modify data for evaluation and compare various modeling scenarios. Armed with these capabilities, consultants and utilities can now adapt the input and output from their InfoWorks ICM models to meet specific project needs in a fully automated process that increases efficiencies. They can also design custom interfaces and tailor projects to their specific needs in new and improved ways.

This unique combination of powerful tools not only enables faster high-quality project completion, better-informed decision making, optimized results, and more efficient asset management and business planning, but saves time and money in the process. It also allows users to produce stunning and engaging project presentations.

“Innovyze has a deep understanding of our industry’s needs and a rich history of commitment to providing the most comprehensive, user-friendly and advanced software tools for the engineering community, regardless of skill level — tools that break down barriers in the modeling community in the interest of getting the job done,” said J.
