In-Pipe Technology awarded a two year contract to implement In-Pipe’s green sewer collection system treatment to eliminate fats, oils and grease in the McHenry collection system and improve plant efficiency by reducing sludge and energy costs.

In-Pipe Technology® Company, Inc. announced recently it has signed a contract for In-Pipe to provide professional, green sewer collection system services in the City of McHenry, IL collection system to reduce influent load, energy, and sludge processing costs at McHenry’s 4.5 million gallons per day wastewater treatment plant. The objective of the 24 month project is to reduce the amount of sludge produced by the WWTP, reduce energy costs and eliminate fats, oils and grease (FOG) without requiring capital investment to upgrade the facility.  In-Pipe will be working with McHenry and its consulting engineering firm, HRGreen.

John Williams, President & CEO of In-Pipe Technology stated, “We are very pleased to be working with the City of McHenry and HR Green to improve plant efficiency as well as eliminate FOG issues in the collection system.”

In-Pipe’s patented technology includes regularly adding a high concentration formulation of facultative, naturally-occurring, non-pathogenic bacteria to strategic locations throughout the sewer system in accordance with an engineered plan.  This entails zero capital cost and no additional energy requirement.  Performance by In-Pipe bacteria in the collection system provides increased capacity within the plant, forestalls costly upgrades, and extends the life of the existing infrastructure.

In-Pipe Technology offers specialized technical expertise, strong customer understanding, and deep resource knowledge.  Since In-Pipe uses natural, biological methods that complementthe treatment plant’s own processes, In-Pipe is a sustainable solution − environmentally and economically.
