Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC Re-Enters Frack Water Treatment Market

Environmental contracting and water treatment company makes a return to treating flow back water from oil and gas fracking operations, allowing oil and gas production companies to save money while benefiting the environment

Wharton, NJ (PRWEB) - Recently, Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC (GWTT) made a return to the oil and gas frack water treatment market, offering a safe, effective way for oil and natural gas producers to treat flow back water from the fracking process.

Robert Kunzel, CEO, says GWTT decided to re-enter this market after seeing other companies' water treatment systems fail to effectively treat flow back water from fracking. Fracking, a type of drilling that involves sending high-pressure blasts of water, sand and chemicals into the earth to break apart shale rock and release oil and natural gas deposits, is known for the amount of waste water it produces.

"We've seen that other people who try to treat frack flow back water fail in this regard, because the treatment system they use isn’t robust enough to maintain 100% of the time," Kunzel says. "This type of treatment follows our core business model of the last 20 years, so it only made sense to return to treating fracking flow back water."

To treat fracking flow back water, GWTT will use the temporary treatment system it pioneered at construction sites, which can work in a wide flow range for virtually any contaminate, Kunzel says. The company has already begun successfully treating frack flow back water on an active oil and gas well pad.

"Recently, we set up a temporary treatment plant and operated at a frack well pad for the treatment of suspended solids and barium," Kunzel explains. "The flow rate was 4,000 barrels per shift. GWTT was successful in treating all the available water to the client’s satisfaction without incident."

By re-entering the market, Kunzel says GWTT's temporary water treatment systems will benefit oil and gas companies by allowing them to save significant amounts of time, money and environmental liability.

"Our unique treatment system benefits the oil and gas companies because treating the water on the well pad saves the client a significant amount of money in trucking fees, as they don't need to move the water to a fixed treatment facility," Kunzel says. "In addition, the client saves a significant number of truck trips, getting trucks off the road and saving time. We also reduce our customer’s carbon footprint and associated liability of moving contaminated water over the road."

With 20 years of experience and expertise in treating flow back water, GWTT is well-equipped to return to treating fracking waste water -- and this experience makes GWTT unique in this industry, Kunzel says.

“We are excited to re-enter this field and we believe that we have unique capabilities and experience that can bring great value to the client,” Kunzel says.
