OdoWatch®

OdoWatch®

Kruger's OdoWatch® system is the world's first real-time, continuous odor monitoring technology. OdoWatch combines odor detection with wireless, automated instruments to capture continuous emissions and weather data. It provides wastewater operators with the tools needed to prevent and manage odors before they become a nuisance within close proximity. The new 3.0 system uses EPA-approved AERMOD modeling that can follow the odor plume over complex terrain.

Spotlight On Odor Control

WWTP Overcomes Odor Issue
By OMI Industries
The City of Crystal Lake is located about 45 miles northwest of Chicago with a population of nearly 45,000 people. Like many wastewater treatment plants, urban sprawl and suburban development puts the Crystal Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant near a host of commercial and residential neighbors, including a high school immediately west of the plant. Plant managers wanted to take steps to reduce — and hopefully eliminate completely — any odor issues from the plant.

Odor Control: How Much Is Enough?
By Sharon Paterson, Kruger
If you work at a wastewater treatment plant you are acutely aware of the role of off-site odor in the cost to operate your facility.

Solving A Taste And Odor Problem Step By Step
By Terry Keep of TrojanUV, Said Abou Abdallah of Arcadis, and Dr. Dean Reynolds, Department of Water Treatment City of Alliance, Ohio
The City of Alliance, OH's water system has experienced annual taste and odor (T&O) events since the mid-1950s, when the first of two reservoirs, Deer Creek Reservoir, was placed into service. Nutrient contaminants in the watershed, in particular phosphorous, accumulated in the reservoirs, causing algal blooms.

Revitalizing A Hog Waste Lagoon
By Jim Dartez, RELIANT Water Technologies
A North Carolina hog grower with a brood barn of 200 full-grown sows contacted Reliant Water Technologies to see if we could assist him with one of his waste lagoons. The plan was to locate an aerator on one end of the lagoon and allow for the forward flow of water from a coarse bubble airlift to ‘push’ the water forward.
