Denitrification capability an important factor for both projects

ECOfluid Systems Inc., USBF technology providers, is proud to announce that it has been contracted to supply a new wastewater treatment plant in Joshua Tree, California which will serve an expanding medical center. The contract is in addition to the recent USBF installation at a high-end restaurant/bar in Malibu, California in early 2012.

“The denitrification capability of the process makes the USBF technology very well suited for the State of California,” said Justin Hebner, ECOfluid Sales & Marketing Manager. “In British Columbia we have consistently demonstrated reduction of Total Nitrogen to less than 5 mg/L. We anticipate that these USBF installations will be the first of many in California.”

Both of the projects stipulate Total Nitrogen of less than 10 mg/L, with the plant in Malibu operating and demonstrating effluent compliance. It replaced an ineffective trickling filter installation and is located in the parking lot of the high-end restaurant/bar, also demonstrating the non-odourous nature of the process.

Site work has begun at the Joshua Tree plant, with start-up scheduled for the Fall of 2013.
