Filtration Is Key To Efficient Wastewater Management By Amiad Water Systems
Wastewater can be defined and handled in any number of ways, from industrial process water slated for return to the environment, to reclaimed irrigation tailwater used to water crops downstream, to state-of-the-art toilet-to-tap projects. But no matter what the source and what the use of the water, 21st century filtration technology will play a vital role in ensuring efficient wastewater management.
New Underdrain Prevents Loss Of Media At Mexico's Largest Drinking Water Plant By Severn Trent Services
Located about 78 miles west of Mexico City lies the municipality of Villa de Allende, home of Mexico’s largest potable water treatment plant. The Los Berros water treatment plant was constructed in 1980 by the National Water Commission, an agency of the Mexican government that manages the nation’s drinking water and wastewater treatment. The plant provides 396.3 million gal/day of water to the country’s capital city, equivalent to approximately 25% of the total water supply of the western hemisphere’s most populated metropolitan area.
Leopold I.M.S Media Retainers Video Both the I.M.S 200 and the I.M.S 1000 are engineered to ensure a highly uniform distribution of air and water during the backwashing process. The I.M.S media retainers deliver lower capital expenditures related to its ease of installation and potential for a smaller vertical footprint, as well as reduced operational expenses due to longer filter runs using less water and energy.
EM-Mini Packaged Water Treatment Systems Datasheet Filtronics EM-mini packaged water treatment systems are factory assembled, fully self-contained and specifically designed for applications of 100 gal/min or less. Available in standard configurations, the EM-mini features a smaller footprint at the lowest capital cost in the industry, making it ideal for budget-minded small communities, schools, and commercial or industrial facilities needing a simple, economical solution.

By Russell Ford, PhD, PE, BCEE, Vice President and Global Service Leader – Drinking Water Infrastructure
The American Water Work Association's State of the Industry Report identified business factors (water rates, knowledge management, non-revenue water to name a few) as some of the top issues and concerns for U.S. water utilities. Water systems are being asked to meet ever more stringent water quality regulations, with fewer resources, and still protect public health. Technological advances have afforded the water industry an opportunity to optimize how they deliver water to their customers, which in turn allows a utility to maintain quality while keeping the costs affordable.
