Considerations When Buying A Storage Tank

Rosemarie-Bristol-American-Structures

When some people think of a water tank, they think it’s very simple. However, as Rosemarie Bristol, a marketing and sales manager with American Structures, told Water Online, there are many factors that should be taken into consideration, in addition to the budget.

Bristol told Water Online, “It’s important to think about what will be stored in the tank, how long it will be stored, whether it should be in a covered structure, open top, need odor control, etc. […] Longevity is also an important factor, so a company can get the greatest value for the money. The initial investment also has to include the longevity of the tank. If you get a cheaper tank and that it’s only going to last the tenth of the time, you’re really not saving any money.”

One of the benefits of an American Structure tank, Bristol explained, is that their design is ‘where the heads are on the inside of the tank and the bolt structure is on the out so they can put those additional auxiliary implements in there.’

Additionally, a bolted stainless steel tank is versatile, based on the anti-corrosive materials and the way the tanks themselves are constructed. It’s usually less expensive than welding because you don’t have to do any field work. Also, you can take down the tank and put it up in another location, add panels to make it larger, reduce it, make it taller, make it wider.
