CH2M To Share Expertise At Fourth International Water Summit In Abu Dhabi

Firm also names new Regional Business Group Manager

CH2M is pleased to announce its participation in the fourth International Water Summit (IWS), hosted by Masdar and co-located with the 9th World Future Energy Summit (WFES) at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, January 18-21. Bringing together world leaders to foster innovation, share best practices and offer tangible solutions to pressing water scarcity issues, IWS is a unique global platform for promoting water sustainability and addressing water challenges across the region.

Throughout IWS and the co-located events, CH2M staff will share their knowledge with and learn best practices from water professionals from around the world. Highlights of the IWS conference include the panel discussion, “Spotlight on Saudi Arabia,” featuring Imad Feghali, January 20, at 10:15 a.m. The discussion will cover Saudi Arabia’s investment in its water sector and the accelerated development of projects in desalination, wastewater and distribution.

Imad Feghali was recently named as CH2M’s new Regional Business Group Manager for its water business in the Middle East, North Africa and India (MENAI) region. In this role, Mr. Feghali will lead the development of regional and strategic projects, assuring that client satisfaction and financial goals are achieved. Based in our Abu Dhabi office, Mr. Feghali has more than 15 years of experience in program and construction management; infrastructure systems design, water and wastewater treatment processes, construction and commissioning; sustainability and smart cities; asset management and risk management. Throughout his career at CH2M, he has provided valuable support to our water business, filling key roles in Project & Program Management, Design Management, Project Delivery, Technology, Staffing and Business Development.

“With his most recent background in business development and sales for our water business in the MENAI region, Imad Feghali is well-suited for his new role and brings a deep understanding of the water challenges our clients are facing in this region,” said Peter Nicol, Water Business Group President.

David Husen will also be participating in a panel discussion titled, “Challenges and opportunities in the GCC’s industrial sector,” during IWS, on January 19, at 4:20 p.m.  This panel will address the developments and directions in the water industry, focusing especially on water-intensive industries, such as refining, mining and food and beverage manufacturing. Mr. Husen has devoted more than 25 years to providing water solutions to industrial clients, with services ranging from Consulting and Engineering to Construction and Operations. He is currently responsible for Industrial Project Development in the MENAI region.

Combined with CH2M’s IWS participation, Adrian Worker, CH2M vice president and commercial director in MENAI, is moderating the panel discussion, “New build activity in the nuclear sector,” on January 20, at 3:20 p.m., during WFES. The session will detail the most advanced nuclear power programs being developed in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Additionally, Omur Akay, CH2M senior vice president and managing director, will present on January 20, at 11:30 a.m., during The Future Cities Forum—a new event co-located with IWS this year that CH2M is proud to Co-Sponsor. The platform will address the long-term future planning of city living and help create sustainable, resource efficient, modern living environments. Mr. Akay’s presentation, “Future Proofing Cities,” will explore urban development in a longer-term context, specifically examining how future cities can be de-risked; how greater resiliency can be embedded in new growth and city retrofits; as well as how cities can anticipate change in technology and energy supply.

CH2M employees will be available to discuss solutions to our world’s greatest engineering challenges throughout IWS and the co-located events.
