APWA Announces Seven Public Works Professionals Earned Certified Stormwater Manager Credential

The American Public Works Association (APWA) announced recently that seven public works professionals from North America have recently earned their Certified Stormwater Managers (CSM) credential. The APWA CSM certification is intended for water experts in both the public and private sectors who coordinate and implement stormwater management programs for city, county, state, provincial, and federal agencies. These professionals assist in administering drainage, flood control, and water quality programs.

Since its inception, the APWA CSM program has credentialed 95 Certified Stormwater Managers in North America.

“The Certified Stormwater Manager (CSM) certification is only offered by the American Public Works Association (APWA), an international leader within the public works field. APWA’s professionalism, strength, notoriety, and presence within the professional business field stretches across and through many levels, which enhance the validity of this certification,” said City of Goodlettsville Amy C. Murray, CSM. “As specialized as stormwater is, it is important to stay abreast of the most recent laws, rules, regulations, and trends within this field. I am proud to be a member of the stormwater community, and appreciate the efforts put forth by APWA to recognize this integral part of the public works field. Having this designation allows others within the public works and stormwater fields to know that I have a vested interest in stormwater,” Murray said.
