Flygt Low Pressure Sewage Systems (LPSS) provide reliable, effective and cost-optimized connection for a single home or an entire community to the municipal wastewater collection network. LPSS is based on a network of small pump stations, with each station usually serving one house. The pump stations utilize grinder pumps that effectively reduce solids to slurry. These systems are especially suitable in remote locations, low-lying areas, undulating terrain and waterfronts.

At the heart of Flygt's low pressure sewage systems are their grinder pumps, both progressive cavity and centrifugal types. Constructed of cast iron, Flygt grinder pumps operate in energy efficient and cost efficient manner. With an impeller specially designed for handling the rigors of pressurized sewage systems, the pumps feature a grinding mechanism that grinds up particles until they measure no more than 1/3" x 5/8", eliminating the risk of clogging and enabling the fine slurry to be pumped through the system's small diameter pipes. The pumps' volute incorporates replaceable hardened cutting ring at the inlet. The grinder pump supplied with systems handle solids and fibers without clogging, and high reliability is further assured by their high start torque.

Each LPSS Station includes an FRP lift station basin with built-in outlet and ready to install inlet connections, and is easily connected to the power supply of a house or building for reliable, dependable operation.

User-friendly and easily accessible, the Flygt LPSS Control Panel displays current system status, and signals with an audible/visual alarm when the water level exceeds the pre-set limit. Flygt's mechanical float switch, the liquid level indicator supplied with the systems provides automatic, trouble-free operation.
