Amiad Filtration Systems has added Ooval automatic diaphragm valves to its product lines in the U.S. and Canada. Amiad has stocked its Oxnard, Calif., warehouse with Ooval valves to serve customers in irrigation, industrial and municipal markets.

"With their small environmental footprint and remarkable versatility, Ooval oval valves are an outstanding fit with our filtration systems," says Jim Lauria, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Amiad in Oxnard. "The innovative design of the Ooval diaphragm dramatically reduces head loss which results in significant energy savings. The valves are engineered for strength and weight savings, handling pressures up to 230 psi while using less material in their construction for reduced environmental footprint. And like Amiad filters, they're elegantly simple in their design, easy to maintain, and extremely reliable across a wide range of applications."

Ooval manufactures a wide range of hydraulically and electrically operated automatic valves, including pressure reducing valves, pressure sustaining valves, pressure relief valves, remote control valves and many more. All Ooval valves – whether metal or plastic construction – feature the company's unique oval design, says Steve Green, the Amiad product manager dedicated to the Ooval line.

"The Ooval flow path is a gentle curve with minimal obstructions, which minimizes head loss and cavitation," Green explains. "The pressure regulating valves adjust continuously and smoothly at any rate of flow. That provides excellent flow control and helps prevent water hammer. The shape also allows a very secure seal with the diaphragm. Maintenance is as simple as removing four bolts and lifting the bonnet – you never have to remove the valve from the line."
