WEDECO TMO-IV UV Transmittance Monitor (254 nm) by Xylem
The TMO-IV is specifically designed for continuous on-line monitoring of UV transmittance (254 nm) in drinking water applications.
Application
The TMO-IV is specifically designed for continuous on-line monitoring of UV transmittance (254 nm) in drinking water applications.
Design
The design and performance of a UV system depends not only upon the flow rate, but also upon the quality of the water. Of particular importance is the “UV-Transmittance”, or the ability of the UV light to pass through the water which is disinfected.
The measurement of UV transmittance has become a necessity for many municipalities that utilize ultraviolet disinfection for their drinking water. Existing and pending regulations may require that many towns and cities have a monitoring system in place that measures UV light intensity during water disinfection. The WEDECO TMO-IV is the only universal UV transmittance measuring unit that accurately measures the UV light intensity during irradiation of water.
The TMO-IV utilizes a high precision two channel UV sensor that measures the decreasing light intensity as it passes through the water. The unit is made from 316 stainless steel and is designed for direct installation within the water flow. Its modular structure offers maximum flexibility and optimal adaptation without influencing the technical measuring characteristics. The water is penetrated by a light beam (UV), which is constantly focused. This is done by utilizing the UV light sensor. The wavelength for the measurement is precisely defined by equal optical filters on the detector and on the lamp side. The measurement is carried out at 254 nm. The lamp reference measurement makes very stable measurements with very low maintenance needed.
