XP Software Releases xpswmm And xpstorm 2009

March 30, 2009

XP Software, Inc. announces the release of xpswmm and xpstorm 2009, marking another milestone in the company's ongoing development of simulation software that is fast, reliable, accurate, and always supported.

Whether using xpswmm and xpstorm's powerful engine and interface for sewer system design and analysis, its 2D modeling capabilities for advanced floodplain analysis, or its easy user interface for simple catchment and stormwater system analysis, engineers agree that XP Software products help them save money and model with confidence.

xpswmm and xpstorm 2009 are now available for download to those with current xpertcare contracts. The new release includes many changes including the following new features and enhancements to make your modeling projects easier:

  • CAD Connector: Load the latest CAD files, convert points, lines and polygons to nodes, links, and polygon objects; manipulate CAD layer visualization within imported CAD images and more.

  • LAND XML: Makes it easy to import and export terrain and network data. For improved workflow, use LAND XML to readily access project data across-platforms.

  • Pond & Basin Storage Optimization: Set outfall at a pond or detention structure faster with automated tools.

  • SWMM5 EPA*: xpswmm and xpstorm now offer more integrated tools for projects requiring the use of EPA SWMM5. You can choose to work with the EPA engine within xpswmm and xpstorm, or import or export SWMM5 data files to and from xpswmm and xpstorm. Results can be easily compared by exporting to Excel or using graphing tools.

  • 2D Vertically changing roughness and infiltration*: Now 2D simulates simple 2D hydrology, rain and infiltration on each grid cell. This brings your one dimensional modeling a step further for accuracy and real world results.

  • Inlet Capacity with 2D*: 2D overland flow now has an additional option for inlet capacity to use an orifice to weir equation from 1D nodes to 2D nodes.

*May require the purchase of an add-on module
