Seawater Filtration In Pipeline Flush And Hydrotest

April 23, 2007

Skids

In early 2006, Enerscope Systems Inc. delivered to Weatherford Services three Amiad EBS high pressure units for seawater filtration in pipeline flush and hydrotest applications. The units were skidded for ease of shipping and portability. They are rated for 20 bar operating pressure and are constructed of cast iron bodies. Filtration performance is 50 micron and they are equipped with spring-loaded nozzles.

The units have been used very successfully for pipeline flush applications using seawater in offshore Russia and Siberia, offshore India, offshore Qatar and UAE.

Weatherford was particularly impressed with the ability of the screens to be kept clean of organic debris by the scanner nozzles. Their previous experiences with other equipment vendors was that the screens would not be totally cleaned of debris at each backwash interval, resulting in successive increases in debris buildup on the screens. Eventually, they would have to completely shutdown the filtration system, remove the screens and acidize them to get rid of the accumulations. The EBS units never had this problem.

Above and below are pictures of the skids. These are the units returned to their yard after use.
