Xpress™ Membrane Bioreactor Packaged Plants — TPO
Designed for applications from 25,000 gpd to 100,000 gpd, the Xpress™ membrane bioreactor (MBR) packaged plant is a robust wastewater treatment process that reduces maintenance and provides reliable and efficient treatment for small-scale municipal and industrial applications.
This pre-engineered, skid-mounted system produces effluent quality with TSS <1 and turbidity <0.2 NTU suitable for most reuse applications. The compact footprint and multistage process also make this ideal for emergency or temporary wastewater treatment.

MBRs Don't Have To Break The Bank
By Kimberly Mathis, Ovivo
Membrane bioreactors (MBRs) may have a reputation for being costly, but they don't have to be. A survey of 137 MBRs on the U.S. mainland shows that an MBR using flat plate technology is typically half to three-quarters the capital expenditure (CAPEX) of hollow fiber systems. There is some data that suggests MBR systems are competitive with several other technologies, including oxidation ditches, SBRs, MBBRs, and BNR plants.

PURON MBR Effectively Removes Phosphorous
By Koch Membrane Systems, Inc.
Controlling phosphorous discharge is a key factor in preserving surface water quality. New legislation and regulations strictly limit phosphorous discharge into sensitive waters, and municipal wastewater treatment plants are now looking to membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology as a solution for phosphorous removal. MBR technology has two main advantages compared to conventional biological wastewater treatment — significantly improved effluent quality and a substantially smaller footprint.

Brochure: Biothane AnMBR (Anaerobic Membrane Bioreactor)
The Biothane Anaerobic MBR combines an anaerobic biological treatment step
with a membrane separation process. Organic components are digested in the
anaerobic reactor and energy-rich biogas is produced. The biomass returns to the
bioreactor, while permeate is discharged as particle-free, low BOD/COD effluent.
