Case Study: Chemplast Chooses Aquatech’s HERO™ & ZLD The Chemplast Mettur plant uses the Cauvery River as their main fresh water source. A strong industrial growth in recent years has resulted in water scarcity in the region. Industries are also required to follow strict environmental norms for discharging effluents. The intent of a Waste Water Treatment Plant was to have complete treatment, recycle and reuse of the combined waste water streams to reduce intake from the Cauvery River while not discharging any liquid waste streams. Case Study: Mixing Eliminates Ice And Prevents Damage In New England Standpipe Ice formation inside steel potable water storage tanks is a common occurrence in the northern US and throughout most of Canada during the winter. Depending on the average air temperature, the inlet water temperature and the amount of turn-over, ice formation can range from a thin skin on the top and northern walls of a water tank to a massive ice cap that weighs many tons. Case Study: Overcoming Water Scarcity Challenges On Providenciales Island The residents and industries of Providenciales Island are completely dependent on fresh water produced by a single desalination plant. In 2007, ITT Flowtronex was hired to replace the plant’s overworked pumping system and add a booster pumping station to the distribution system. One of the challenges they faced in designing controls for the system was how to maintain the public water supply while the island’s undersized ground water storage tanks were removed and replaced with a large single tank in the same location, a three to four month process.
