PulseOx In-Well Reactor (IWR) Case Study: Active Gas Station, Bridgeport, CA

By APTwater, Inc.

A 1993 release at an active service station in Bridgeport, CA resulted in soil and groundwater contamination by gasoline and oxygenate compounds. Despite years of intermittent treatment, BTEX, MTBE & TPH-g contamination persisted in the former source area. In April 2008, APTwater, Inc.'s advanced oxidation process (AOP) IWR technology was cost-effectively installed in two existing source area monitoring wells. After less than six weeks of operation, the IWR technology reduced the BTEX, MTBE and TPH-g contaminant levels to below detectable limits, and site closure was achieved less than five months thereafter.
