PulseOx Case Study: Former Dry Cleaner Site, Indianapolis, IN

In 2006, APTwater was contracted by SESCO Group to test and implement source area remediation of mixed chlorinated solvents and motor fuels released from a former service station and dry cleaner site near Indianapolis, IN. APTwater's PulseOx® in-situ advanced oxidation process (AOP) was selected to provide rapid and cost-effective chemical oxidation of benzene, PCE, TCE, DCE, and vinyl chloride in low permeability soil conditions. In five months of pilot testing, the PulseOx system achieved >93% reductions in total contaminant levels from the source area. As a result, a full-scale PulseOx P-1500 trailer system was selected and specified in the Remedial Action Plan (RAP) for implementation in 2009.
