By APTwater, Inc.
APTwater, Inc. has successfully treated 1,4-Dioxane at the 400 by 1,600 sq. ft. Cooper Drum Superfund Site, located in the city of South Gate in Los Angeles County, California. A PulseOx® P-200 in-situ chemical oxidation trailer unit remediated groundwater contaminated with 1,4-Dioxane and a mixture of VOCs, including TCE, PCE, DCE and 1,1-DCA, by injecting a combination of ozone and hydrogen peroxide into the ground to form a contaminant-altering Hydroxyl radical. The U.S. EPA has indicated it will suggest full-scale in-situ treatment for 1,4-Dioxane beginning in 2008.
