ITT Water and Wastewater has launched a new, significantly higher efficiency compact Flygt mixer, the SR4650 LSPM. The motor in this new mixer relies on Line-Started Permanent-Magnet (LSPM) technology to deliver maximum efficiency in terms of mixer thrust and power consumption.

The major advantages of the LSPM version as compared to a standard mixer of similar size:

• Combines the efficiency of a synchronous permanent magnet motor with the direct on-line starting of an induction motor;
• Up to 15% higher efficiency at comparable power, for reduced power consumption and energy costs;
• With a higher power factor, up to 40% lower current draw, allowing smaller cables;
• Up to 50% more power and thrust; and
• Starts direct-on-line (unlike permanent magnet motors which need a VFD to start).
