Emek Hefer - Cowshed Waste Water Treatment

• A regional cowshed manure bio-gas-plant, first of its kind in Israel.
• The plant treats about 600 ton of cowshed manure per day with anaerobic digestion technology and energy production.
• The plant produces 2 MW of green electricity.
• BOOT contract for 20 years.

Objective:

• To find a technological and financially feasible solution for cowshed waste (from local collection pits) at Emek Hefer region, Israel.
• Strict regulations imposed by local authorities to minimize contamination caused by traditional cowshed design and construction made a new approach mandatory.
