Dr. Chitikela selected as principal author
January 30, 2001
The Water Environment Federation (WEF) has selected Dr. S. Rao Chitikela, P.E., of CABE Associates, Inc., to be one of the principal authors and technical reviewers for a wastewater technical manual to be published in March 2002. The manual will address odor problems in wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) and collection systems. The manual will be of primary assistance to WWTP operators, engineers and managers; consulting engineers, state and local regulatory staff, laboratory staff, and collection systems maintenance supervisors in evaluating and solving odor problems. The chapter that Dr. Chitikela will write is entitled "Toxic Emissions Regulations: Federal, State and Local Requirements." As a technical reviewer for the remainder of the manual, he will be responsible for reviewing the accuracy of the technical content of the document.
In addition to holding a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware, Dr. Chitikela is a Delaware registered Professional Engineer. His academic experience includes a variety of wastewater treatment and biosolids design and evaluation projects. He has also worked in both private practice and as an environmental regulator, most recently as a DNREC Environmental Engineer. In the later capacity he was responsible for industrial permitting, inspection and compliance for State and Federal Clean Air Act regulations.
The WEF is dedicated to the benefit of society through preservation and enhancement of the global water environment. WEF is considered by many to be the leading source of information and knowledge on the wastewater environment.
