Comparative Performance Of Lakeland, FL Glendale WWTP

In-Pipe Technology (IPT) has been in use on the sewer feeding this WWTP since February 2001. Until summer of 2006 the purpose of IPT was principally for odor control. In May of 2006 final adjustment to the dosing rate was made to demonstrate other performance parameters.

From June through November 2006 there were no documented instances of unknown materials entering the sewer. The same time frame was selected from 2000 as appropriate for comparison because it was immediately prior to the first dosing of IPT. The Lakeland facility runs between 7-9 MGD.

Lakeland tracks known industrial dischargers on a monthly basis and is the source for the Industrial Loading value. The operating data is obtained from the database maintained by Lakeland in the normal course of operations. Customer meter accounts are used as indicators of population changes and have increased 19% during the 6 years since inception of the project.
