December 8, 2009

Greg Bentley, CEO of Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for the infrastructure that sustains our world, contributed actively during President Obama's Forum on Jobs and Economic Growth at the White House last week. Mr. Bentley participated in the breakout session "Expanding Job Opportunities for American Workers Through Exports," moderated by National Economic Council Director Lawrence Summers and Chairman of the U.S. Export-Import Bank Fred Hochberg. The top executives of Boeing, Ethan Allen, FedEx, Magno International, United States Steel, Walt Disney, and Xerox were the other CEO participants in the session.

During the discussions, Mr. Bentley spoke about:

  • The critical importance of open foreign markets, to enable American innovation to continue to foster job creation in the United States;
  • Confidence in the ability of the U.S. software industry, in particular, to accordingly generate consistent, substantial, and increasing trade surpluses, benefiting Americans through export and job growth;

The global recognition of superior returns on investment in new intelligent and high-performing "green" infrastructure, enabled by information modeling through software such as Bentley Systems' products, as a driver for better jobs and economic conditions.
