Bentley Systems, Incorporated, the leading company dedicated to providing comprehensive software solutions for the infrastructure that sustains our world, recently announced that it has been selected to host delegates to the U.S. Department of Commerce Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) Water Resource Management program at its corporate headquarters in Exton, Pa., April 30, 2009. This one-day training session will provide 18 mid- and senior-level water executives from Central Asia, Western Eurasia, and the Caucasus region of southeast Europe with a comprehensive understanding of water management in the United States. Through the SABIT program, these high-level managers will acquire the skills and knowledge needed to effect change and improve water infrastructure management, equipment, and treatment processes in their respective organizations. As session host, Bentley will demonstrate its integrated applications for potable water supply, wastewater, and storm sewer systems, offer best practices, and share its expertise in water management. Among those making presentations will be Bentley COO Malcolm Walter and Bentley Vice President Jack Cook, solution executive for water and wastewater. The program delegates include executives from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.
"We are extremely pleased that Bentley Systems accepted our invitation to participate in this important program," said Tracy Rollins, director, SABIT program, U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. "We hope our delegation of water executives from the former Soviet Union will benefit greatly from hearing about Bentley's expertise and leadership in the management of water and wastewater infrastructure throughout its entire lifecycle. We also hope that our participants will take advantage of their experience here and put their knowledge of U.S. products, technology, and management to good use to improve the quality and reliability of the municipal water and wastewater systems in their home countries."
Said Jack Cook, "Bentley has an unwavering commitment to sustaining the world's water resources infrastructure, and we look forward to helping the SABIT program delegates better understand and resolve their water infrastructure challenges.
"Our years of leadership in this domain have enabled us to develop a water and wastewater solution that supports a wide range of activities to serve their needs, including mapping, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, treatment plant design, information sharing and collaboration, design and construction documentation, field engineering, and operations and maintenance."
Bentley's Haestad Methods product line continues to advance the technology standard in hydrologic and hydraulic systems analysis, design, and management. These products have application across the complete design, build, and operate lifecycle of water resources infrastructure.
