Advantages Of Reflector Technology For UV Water Treatment Systems
By UV Sciences Inc.
In order to deliver the most energy to a target from a fixed source of energy, one must eliminate energy losses to the highest extent possible. UV Sciences' new UVS family of UV light-based water purification chambers represents a dramatic improvement in the energy efficiency of UV water treatment chambers. The patented design features incorporated into the UVS series of highly reflective treatment chambers use fundamental science to provide superior performance.

Membrane Bioreactors For Reduced Power Consumption
By Eimco Water Technologies
Submerged membrane bioreactors (MBRs) are often considered to be the best available technology for the treatment of wastewater. However, MBR systems are also often seen as more expensive to own and operate than competing conventional activated sludge (CAS) technologies. In particular, MBR energy consumption has been reported as being 10% to 100% greater than for comparable CAS plants. The simple and oft cited explanation for increased energy usage at MBR plants is membrane air scouring. However, upon closer inspection, plant energy efficiency in MBR systems is really a result of overall plant design, operation, and specifically, turndown.
